This 65m2 floorplan shows an artist’s residence in the Montmartre aux Artistes centre in Paris. The occupant’s furniture is represented in blue, that of the landlord in orange.
The drawing on display here is part of a series of four plans which together reveal a personal strategy for being chez-soi, at home, that corresponds to a lifestyle (re)defined by a social resilience. These “living plans” demonstrate at once the space of the habitat and the ways in which it is used by the individual.
The creators of this series believe that these symptomatic examples demonstrate that the home is no longer a comfortable space removed from the critical urban context but rather a potential site for new ways of living.
